16th August 1995 - The Hunter Region Rail Modellers Club amalgamate with the Newcastle Model Railway Club Inc. This group was specifically set up to run exhibitions.
Exhibitions (participation) 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92,93, 94 – Combined Hunter Region Rail Modellers Association (held at The Newcastle Police Boys Club (1985-1989) and later Newcastle Basket Ball Stadium (1990-1994) 90 – Berrima District Model Railway Club 95 – Taree & District Model Railway Club 96, 97, 98, 2000, 2001 – Newenga Junction (Our Town Model Show) 98, 99 – Holiday Coast Model Railway Exhibition
The Newcastle Model Railway Club Incorporated Executive Members (after amalgamation)
Current Day Operation TNMRC currently operates Wednesday nights and Thursday mornings, operating sessions are held for the running of N-Scale and H.O./O.O. model trains of any proto type. Specific operating sessions are conducted monthly to encourage members to research and learn more about the trains that they run.
Work on constructing and upgrading the clubs various layouts is undertaken regularly, and includes activities such as track laying, the modernising of electrical systems to include digital command control, and the repair and replacement of scenery.
The club also has an extensive library of modelling reference written material that dates back to the 1950’s and electronic media that includes a wide range of train related video’s and DVD’s.
